If you have ever visited skilled nursing care centers, you immediately get a vibe and can literally smell if the facility is well staffed and managed. Taylor is by far one of the best in Jacksonville and maybe in the region/state. The nurses and CNAs are informed, knowledgeable, kind and professional! I feel extremely lucky to have gotten a spot here for my father.
She would ring the bell and no one would come...over and over an over. Phones are shared and good luck trying to get a staff member actually bother to hand it to the patient. The staff is very apathetic and most are lazy - moving at a snail's pace. My mother had excellent private insurance - not medicaid or just medicare but received terrible care. Taylor needs to spend some of their foundation and donor money to update their care center to modern times, hire a new chef and hire engaged personnel who actually give a darn.

I have had several friends who lived in Taylor Care Center and stayed there until the end of their lives. Most of their family members said they were so pleased with the care they provide; that's why I chose it for my husband, too. He's been there since January 27, and it's been a good experience. I think they just need to freshen them up, but the staff has been excellent, responsive, and professional. In fact, he's getting a manicure right now, so he's really happy.
